Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Senior Scientist to join our Structural Research department located at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT. As a Senior Scientist, you will enable and provide X-ray crystallography support to NCE and NBE projects through the use of structure-based design approaches at all stages of the NCE and NBE discovery process.

Responsibilities:
Enable and provide experimental structural biology input and support that drive NCE and NBE projects to achieve milestone goals.
Maintain all appropriate notebook records of all studies and satisfy all normal lab SOP requirements.

PhD in experimental Structural Biology with two to five years combined post-doctoral and industrial experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or biotechnology sector.
Strong technical skills in protein crystallization. Experience in preparing and characterizing protein samples for crystallization. Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of crystallization trials. Demonstrated expertise in the collection and interpretation of X-ray crystallography co-structure data to support NCE optimization.
Experience with the application of structural biology approaches to the design and optimization of NBEs a strong plus.
Experience in the preparation and crystallization of membrane proteins a plus.
Experience with protein-ligand co-structure determination by NMR a plus.
Experience with protein biophysical characterization a plus.
Strong academic performance demonstrating a track record in high-quality, innovative research.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and good presentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, team environment.
