Associate Director, Data Domain - Data Management & Platforms

Within our commercial Insights, Analytics, and Data organization we are transforming to better power decision-making across our end-to-end commercialization process, from business development to late lifecycle management. As we endeavor, we are seeking a dynamic talent for the role of an Associate Director, Data Domain Ownership.

As a manager of data products, you will be part of the Master Data Strategy & Integration team where you will be accountable for shaping the strategy, overseeing delivery execution, and ensuring value realization of warehouse features and data. In this role, you will leverage strategic thinking, technical skills, creativity, and knowledge of Biopharmaceutical data landscapes to shape the data vision and strategy. You will partner with architecture, data science, data strategy, and IT teams, as well as global and regional stakeholders to assess needs, develop the product roadmap, direct teams to deliver best-in-class data platform features, and measure value realization aligned with the company’s mission and organization strategy. You will have the opportunity to deliver impactful capabilities that enable data-driven decision making across our Company's commercial division and realize value for commercial and marketing teams.

Primary tasks:

  • Translate problems, needs and opportunities into the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the data platform promoting the organization, aligned with business strategy and objectives

  • Conduct product stakeholder meetings and engage with senior leadership to continuously shape and evolve product vision and roadmap

  • Develop and leverage in-depth knowledge of biopharma marketing / commercial analytic domains, data landscapes and industry trends

  • Guide design, prioritization, and delivery of data platform features through the software development lifecycle, from concept to testing, deployment and adoption

  • Create and manage epics and user stories to ensure delivery teams have well-groomed and prioritized backlogs to meet product objectives and deliver on the product roadmap

  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to implement robust refinement practices and customer feedback loops to ensure features and services delivered are aligned with business/ user needs

  • Drive value-based prioritization of work, manage release scoping in alignment with stakeholders and ensure customer expectation are managed optimally

  • Partner with various business strategy and execution teams, internal data stewards and 3rd party vendors to further develop and scale the company’s data assets

  • Manage optimal balance between user/ stakeholder needs and technical capabilities to maintain high platform performance standards, efficient operations and minimize technical debt

  • Work closely with product owners/ managers, scrum masters and technical leads to optimize team setup, delivery model and resolve impediments to enable efficient and high-quality software development

  • Work objectively under minimal guidance, ensuring alignment with management teams


  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or related field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business, etc.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working knowledge, with demonstrated Domain / Product Ownership with knowledge developing data and analytics capabilities in an Agile framework

  • Knowledge of data engineering capabilities and data science lifecycle

  • Relevant knowledge in Product Development Frameworks, System Development Life Cycle

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders

  • Management skills, with demonstrated ability to set direction and direct/motivate teams

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehension of Global Commercial and Marketing Analytics domains and data landscape, particularly in oncology

  • Prior knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Prior knowledge managing direct reports

  • Agile Certifications

  • AWS Cloud Certifications
