In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose
Work to improve reliability of process control systems to meet current & projected customer, business & regulatory requirements through the following activities:
- People focus

Accountabilities
- Support plans to maintain & improve process control systems
- Demonstrate awareness of systematic problem-solving in everyday life
- Schedule & execute plans in coordination with operations schedules
- Own self development & initiative to build an understanding of automation applications & systems
- Adhere to the automation standards & implement the necessary changes to the automation-related specifications & maintenance plans
- Supports Engineering Technicians
- Assist in coaching & training colleagues & stakeholders
- Operate in compliance with a quality first mindset
- Assist in implementing process changes & investigating process deviations
- Work closely with operations to identify process gaps & focus on continuous improvement
- Support corporate, DFP, local IT, & local stakeholder initiatives & projects
- Govern behavior based on the Novo Nordisk Way
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Required Qualifications
BA/BS in engineering/related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems
- Knowledgeable in the following technologies: PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL (databases), Historian, general controls
- Knowledge in planning/organization, follow-up & completion
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
- Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
- Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other time zones, if necessary
- Ability to travel internationally & domestically, as necessary
- Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility
- Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
- Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift, if necessary
- Constantly positions oneself to transfer materials within manufacturing environment
- Frequently moves about building(s) to access other personnel & operational areas
- Corrected vision to 20/30 &/or ability to pass vision screening assessment necessary to procure motorized vehicle license
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to access service equipment. Works atop elevated positions at heights
- Occasionally required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle
- Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials
- Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments
- Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment
- Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
