We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our Discovery-focused Protein Engineering group at our research site based in Rahway, NJ. You will join a group of innovative scientists that are implementing technologies to optimize peptides/proteins to enable discovery chemistry, biologics, and vaccine programs.

You will be involved in specific projects and partner in cross-functional collaborations across diverse therapeutic areas that target proteins and pathways in oncology, immunology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, infectious diseases, and neuroscience. This position will require critical thinking, flexibility, multitasking, and the ability to bring in new technologies to enable rapid design, generation, and testing of engineered proteins.


Required Experience and Skills :

  • A minimum of a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field
  • A minimum 4 years of related industry experience
  • Record of accomplishment in leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on goals
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, e.g. building strong teams, ability to motivate, influence, develop/coach others, lead by example through scientific/technical expertise
  • Experience developing high-throughput screening assays to analyze protein variants with automated liquid handling
  • Experience with multiple types of biochemical assays (FACS, ELISA, HTRF, SPR, Fluorescence, etc)

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience developing cell-based assays to analyze protein function
  • Experience characterizing the biophysical properties of proteins
  • Proficient in current molecular biology and recombinant protein production technologies
