Biomedical Technician I

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing direct service and support to the users for a wide variety of medical devices and peripherals within the BayCare system.
  • Work extensively with the incident management system and is responsible for fulfilling end user requests and resolving issues on medical devices in accordance with established SLAs and CES procedural standards.
  • Typical responsibilities involve Preventive Maintenance (PMs), calibration/maintenance of medical devices, and responding to break/fix service requests.
  • Ensure that all the components necessary to support the medical device are in place and functional, such as power/surge protections, computer equipment, cabling, etc.
  • Responsible for moving and configuring setup of relocated medical devices.
  • Deploy or work with Information Services to refresh computers, transfer data, and move software from old system to new.
  • Decommissioning and proper disposal of End of Life (EOL) medical devices.
  • Provide local assistance to other areas during down times to help troubleshoot issues.
  • Support various CES Field Service teams and IS Resolver groups (ex. FS Project Team, IS Field Services, and other IS Resolver groups not located locally).
  • Provide assistance with Vendors to install Vendor Hardware and Software.
  • Required to participate in CES related projects as directed and to assist with technology refresh, inventory management, system imaging/staging, and medical device distribution.
  • Have a working knowledge of regulations, rules, and policies pertaining to medical equipment and ensures these standards are followed by outside vendors as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required - 1 year - Related experience in lieu of Technical Training/Program.
  • Required - Technical - Biomedical; Or - Technical - Electronics; Preferred - Associates - Related Field
