Business Development Proposal Manager

Overview

The Business Development Proposal Manager will support EU Communications business growth and drive operational excellence with regards to new business, organic growth, knowledge management and agency partner network.

The scope will include support of local (UK, DE, FR) and regional European growth opportunities for:

  • Individual communications disciplines (MedComms, PR, or Advertising)
  • Integrated communications (MedComms, PR and Advertising)
  • Communications within cross-business Commercial solutions


Responsibilities

RFI / RFP delivery

  • Support RFP/pitch process by managing timelines, tracking progress, support logistics and applying pitch process compliance
  • Manage effective engagement with internal SYNH stakeholders and external knowledge resources/subject matter experts (e.g. agency partner network) to support RFP/pitch delivery excellence
  • Liaise with internal service departments (Strategy, Finance, HR, Creative studio, Research & analytics, Legal, compliance) to provide infrastructure for efficient RFP/pitch delivery
  • Initiate post-pitch evaluation and apply lessons learned
  • Own RFI response development from timeline planning and management, to gathering stakeholder input, to finally creating and curating submission content
  • Develop capability decks for client presentations


BD operations and internal initiatives

  • Contribute to overall BD operations excellence as a member of the EU BD team
  • Plan, develop and deliver selected BD initiatives assigned by the BD Lead EU Communications


Knowledge management & reporting

  • Connect with EU Communications Growth Leads in each of the Business Units to drive salesforce.com compliance, consistency of usage as primary data source, and maximize data quality
  • Help to develop appropriate, timely and accurate reports as required in collaboration with the analytics functions in Europe as well as in the US
  • Handle in- and outbound agency partner network requests and liaise with internal Vendor Management Group to support compliant onboarding and communication with new and existing partners


Job Requirements

  • Experience working within a healthcare communications agency is essential
  • Integrated communications experience across Medical Communications, Public Relations and Advertising preferred
  • Skilled in supporting new business pitch preparations
  • Pragmatic and calm when handling multiple tasks and requests in parallel
  • Acute attention to detail in project-management and communication skills
  • Confident in planning, developing content and hosting internal meeting and workshops
  • Excellent stakeholder communications and management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English. French and/or German language skills would be an advantage
  • SalesForce.com or other CRM experience preferred, but not essential
