Posting Summary
Serve as the principal coordinator and scientific lead for complex clinical research studies at the University of Vermont Department of Psychiatry's STRENGTHENS research lab in alignment with approved protocols. Operate with a high degree of autonomy to design, implement, and manage multi-site studies involving vulnerable populations. Oversee daily study operations including patient identification, recruitment, consent, and education. Coordinate sample collection, diagnostic procedures, and patient monitoring, ensuring timely documentation and reporting of adverse events. Maintain regulatory compliance with IRB , FDA , and sponsor guidelines. Contribute to protocol development, data analysis, quality assurance activities, and preparation of research publications and grant proposals. Implement safety protocols and crisis management procedures with patients and study participants displaying acutely elevated levels of emotional distress.
This role is designated as fully remote, with no regular on-campus responsibilities. Occasional travel to campus may be requested for team meetings or training. Work location is subject to approval, and compliance with UVM's remote work policies.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master's Degree in biological sciences, health sciences or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; three to five years' experience in a clinical research capacity conducting clinical research studies.
Successful completion of a background check, and U.S. Government approval to access military installations and other government facilities.
Domestic and international travel to military installations and other government facilities.
Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in a progressively responsible management capacity in a medical research environment; experience or knowledge in psychology and psychiatry.
Prior military service; prior training or education in peer support and peer mentoring principles and practices; prior training or education in crisis response planning for suicide prevention.
Experience using Microsoft Software applications and REDCap desired; three to five years' experience working in military settings with military personnel.
Anticipated Pay Range
$65,000 - 75,000
Other Information
Employee must be located in close proximity to a DoD facility to ensure network access for recurring job duties, and any urgent study needs. Possession of U.S. passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
