Job Description

The Discovery Oncology organization seeks an outstanding and highly motivated Director to lead our functional genomics group to be based in Boston, MA.  In this role, you will help advance the company's Discovery Oncology portfolio and accelerate the discovery of new target biology and its validation in Oncology and Immunology.    In this unique opportunity, you will: - Develop innovative approaches using CRISPR technology to enable the broad use of genetic screening and validation. - Advance biologic understanding across broad areas of biologic interest.  - Collaborate within discovery oncology, pharmacology and genomics/pharmacogenomics to develop and integrate enabling technology and pursue key biological questions within your group. - Be a strategic leader in accelerating innovative biology discovery within the Research division.

Education Minimum Requirements: - MD or PhD in cell and molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology or relevant area  

Required Experience and Skills:  

- A minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience. - Demonstrated expertise in functional genomics - Fluency in analytic techniques necessary for analyses of genetic perturbation - Demonstrated understanding of how functional genomics can contribute to biologic discovery - Track record of successful integration of functional genomics approaches across multiple scientific groups - Management experience, directly managing people and/or leadership role with demonstrated effectiveness in leading scientific groups - Acknowledged as an expert in the field based on accomplishments, publications and recognition - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a matrix organization to execute experimental plans and deliver results is key to the success of this role. - Exceptional leadership and organizational skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills   Preferred Experience and skills: - Prior pharmaceutical industry experience. - Experience working in a highly matrixed organization     Our employees are the key to our company’s success.  We demonstrate our commitment to our employees by offering a competitive and valuable rewards program.  Our Company’s benefits are designed to support the wide range of goals, needs and lifestyles of our employees, and many of the people that matter the most in their lives.
