Employee Relations Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join our Employee Relations team. This is a key role in fostering a positive, productive, and legally compliant workplace environment. The position is responsible for managing complex employee relations matters, supporting leaders, and ensuring policies and procedures are applied fairly and effectively. The Employee Relations Specialist acts as a trusted advisor on employee relations issues, providing guidance and practical solutions to leaders, as well as upskilling on key topics and consistently striving to maximise value and impact.

Essential Functions

  • Lead complex, sensitive employee relations cases including investigations, disciplinary matters, grievance handling and performance issues.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers and HR colleagues on employee Relations best practices.
  • Analyse trends and insights from employee data to anticipate issues and propose proactive solutions (such as upskilling opportunities)
  • Collaborate with the UKI HR Partner Team, Legal and other functions to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Participate in the day-to-day development and implementation of new local and global HR initiatives.
  • Work on organizational effectiveness and HR partnering change management efforts associated with reorganizations restructuring, mergers/acquisitions and transfers to ensure compliance to local legislation.
  • Contribute to, or lead on, the upkeep and development of employment policies, toolkits, standard documentation etc, as required.
  • Design and deliver ER focused training to managers and HR colleagues



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 6+ years of experience within an HR function with significant Employee Relations experience
  • Extensive knowledge of employment legislation
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and HRIS applications
  • Excellent problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills with an ability to manage complex analyses and incorporate insights into deliverables
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for communicating complex messages succinctly
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good influencing skills
  • Good coaching and counselling skills
  • Very high degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan routine activities
  • Good ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Fosters positive, trusted and respectful relationships with key stakeholders
  • Professional HR accreditation preferred
