Explosive Research Chemist

Who will I be working with? You will be working alongside the military, government employees, other Government contractors, and with our team of other awesome Inflowees.

What level Clearance do I need? You must possess or be eligible to obtain an active Secret clearance.

When is this position expected to begin? In support of Inflow's contract with the Government, you will be working alongside Government civilians and other Government contractors, chemists, and engineers.

What will I be doing? Using your technical expertise in chemistry, you will be supporting the Micro Analysis Laboratory in the areas of explosive research, testing, and data analysis. In addition, you will:

  • Keep abreast of the latest research in energetic materials through literature reviews and technical conferences
  • Micro Analysis Laboratory equipment: DSC, TGA, 6200 Isoperibol w/1108 bomb, MP-70, ARSST, Nicolet 6700, Nicolet iS50, DXR, SEM/EDAX, CL/MS, LA 950V2, Powder Jet, Lab Hoods, DI Water, Optical Microscopes, Glassware, Gas Provisions
  • Micro Analysis Laboratory capabilities: Thermal Analysis, Molecular Spectroscopy, Separation and Spectrometry, Particle Size Analysis, Lab Overview, Lab Materials in Test SOP, Lab Check List Open/Close
  • Support quarterly preventative maintenance
  • Current year updates on needs for equipment and supplies
  • Planning for upcoming year needs for equipment and supplies
  • Standard Operating Procedures policy reviews and other document updates
  • Aid in the development of laboratory and test range instrumentation and equipment specifications
  • Make technical recommendations of laboratory and test range instrumentation and equipment as to which products best satisfy the technical needs of the Government
  • Ensure that user-level preventative maintenance is performed on all instruments and equipment and properly recorded; ensuring that such maintenance does not invalidate data collection and processing, a manufacturer's warranty, or other agreement
  • Ensure that all instrumentation and equipment is accounted for, calibrated to the appropriate specifications, serviceable, and available for use to support operations
  • Maintain and update list of trained personnel and ensure that only properly trained personnel operate instrumentation and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned



What experience, training, and education do I need?

You must meet the minimum requirements:

  • 3+ years of technical experience in chemistry
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College or equivalent experience in a technically related field
