Financial Controller

Job Purpose

To provide a broad range of financial and general operations expertise into the local commercial business.

Key Responsibilities:

Local responsibilities

  • Generally support and partner with the CGM/Business Unit Head in all financial and administrative matters
  • Ensure the accounting records and reports for the affiliate(s) are maintained, in compliance with local statutory requirements, as well as with group policies and procedures
  • Support the CGM/Business Unit Head with executing strategy of expanding the business into new territories within the Region
  • Work with KKI HQ to assess the appropriate financial and corporate structures for the Region.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory reporting, tax and other business filing requirements for each of the CEE territories within the regions
  • Manage and coordinate all local relationships with external financial vendors, such as payroll outsourcing, tax specialists, auditors, bankers, insurance brokers, etc., as required
  • Coordinate relationship from a financial perspective with local pharmaceutical distributors in the CEE
  • Be the point of contact with KKI HQ for all financial and administrative matters and provide the interface between the CEE business and KKI HQ
  • Set up and develop a local finance team and bring accounting inhouse
  • Review all agreements from a financial perspective and provide financial perspective to the CGM/Business Unit Head
  • Manage the local corporate insurance renewals as necessary and in conjunction with the HQ global policies
  • Develop financial models, metrics and tools to enable the commercial business to make key decisions including forecasting and pricing
  • Collaborate on the setting of targets with CGM/Business Unit Head for sales team; to track and monitor field force performance
  • Support P&R activities



  • Partner with CGM and HQ on pricing enquiries, supply chain activities and wholesalers to ensure pricing and usage is correct, as appropriate
  • Provide support in other administrative areas including HR, IT, and Legal, if appropriate
  • Take responsibility for the operation and management of the local bank accounts
  • Ensure internal controls are appropriate and procedures followed and regularly updated
  • Become involved in any other projects when they are necessary for the company (such as change of the accounting system)



Position Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with several years proven commercial experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong financial background including experience in working with a variety of financial reporting systems with an emphasis on Excel
  • Experience in Central / Eastern Europe region
  • Strong English skills (both verbal and written) as well as capability to fully communicate in the local language.
  • Experience in forecast and budget preparation and reporting
  • Hands on experience in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Proven ability to establish metrics and associated reports which capture the health of the business and the ability to communicate these effectively to non-financial personnel
  • Proven experience in interrogating numbers and probing for clarity
