The Global Marketing Associate Director - Device Technologies is a member of the Global Swine Business Unit at Merck Animal Health. This unit sets the strategic direction for the Swine Business Worldwide and must also ensure alignment with this strategy with all functions within the organization.
The main objective of this position is to support various aspects of Device Technologies, in particular the Intradermal Application of Liquids (IDAL) injector, in the Global Swine Business unit, as well as, to a smaller extent, various Device technologies in the Global Poultry Business Unit. The Global Marketing Associate Director - Device Technologies will work closely with various internal and external functions, including but not limited to R&D, manufacturing, procurement, contract manufacturing, country operations, customers, that impact the functionality and success of the various devices in the field. In addition, he/she will closely collaborate with the Global Marketing Directors in both Swine and Poultry that manage the products that are administered with the specific Device Technologies. The individual will need to lead cross-functional teams. The nature of this role requires flexibility to be able to travel globally as and when required in order to properly fulfill the principal tasks and responsibilities.
Education Minimum Requirement:
MS Degree in Marketing, Agricultural or Animal Sciences or equivalent. Minimum 8 years' experience in Marketing and/or Sales.
Required Experience and Skills**:
• A minimum of 8 years of direct brand management, including:
- Marketing experience in animal health or human health, preferably marketing to veterinarians as well as end-users
• Must possess strong financial acumen, knowledge of market research and customers
• Full proficiency in spoken and written English (proficiency in second major language is preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including intercultural, interpersonal and general communication with a natural ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Availability to travel (approx. 30-40% travel both domestic and international)
• Self-starter, able to work and manage effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong project management skills
• Experience or proven ability to work in a multicultural environment
Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Expertise in Device Technologies is desirable
• Expertise in Swine and/or Poultry production is desirable
• Global experience is desirable
