The Kaiser Account Specialist is a field based representative with specific focus on account management within a large integrated delivery system. The Kaiser Account Specialist is required to have a deep understanding of the customer (Kaiser) and their territory in addition to a comprehensive understanding of the market, the business and the account in order to identify opportunities to support sales growth. This role requires individuals that continuously build, expand and maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the account to support product promotion with the goal of improving patient health. They are responsible for analyzing customer data and segmentation and applying insights to effectively develop a plan, allocate resources and execution of plans, consistent with brand strategy. The Kaiser Account Specialist is responsible for providing a consistent and reliable presence for the customer in a manner that is compliant with Kaiser regulations and effectively representing Merck. The responsibilities to build, expand and maintain relationships can/will include one to one interactions at account locations, attending account organized conferences/symposium as an exhibitor, and attending national conferences supported by our organization. Kaiser Account Specialists are all required to conduct all business consistent with our Values and Standards, and all Merck Policies and Procedures.
This territory covers South Bay, Southern California. Key cities include, but not limited to: South and West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Harbor City, Long Beach, Signal Hill, Gardena, Carson, Inglewood, Downey, Bellflower, etc.
The ideal location to reside is within this territory.
Travel (%) varies based on candidate's location within the geography.
This position reports to Salome Riley.

Education Minimum Requirement:
- Required - BA/BS
- Preferred - MBA/MS
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of (3) years successful Pharmaceutical Sales experience
- Minimum of (5) years Sales/Marketing experience in a Pharmaceutical and/or Health Science industry
- Demonstrated Leadership skills
- Strong Business Acumen
- Strong Interpersonal/Communication skills
- Documented history of strong performance in Sales
- Demonstration of strategic and execution oriented competencies
- Ability to analyze metrics to assess progress against objectives
- Experience developing new business opportunities with existing customers
- Valid Driver's license
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Successful experience in Hospital or Specialty Sales
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Marketing or Sales of Vaccine and Injectable products
