POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of thisposition is to support lab experiments and the day to day functioning of theLampe lab. This is a grant funded position.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct experiments in genecloning, basic microbiology, and protein expression in bacteria.
Ordering lab supplies.
Lab organization.
Support day to day functionof the lab.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Area of study in biology or equivalent.
Basic understanding ofmicrobiology and an undergraduate knowledge of lab work.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited institution.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Ideally, basic DNA cloningskills.
Basic microbiology.
Familiarity with westernblotting and ELISA.
Laboratory solution making.
Computer skills sufficientto order reagents.
Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
