We have the following exciting opportunity in our Foster City office:

Sr. Manager/ Associate Director - OLP Marketing Operations


  • Operational Responsibilities
    • Responsible for supporting key Therapeutic Area OLP Marketing teams in their day-to-day activities around Speaker Bureau and Speaker Program management
    • Acts as a sounding board to other team members, discussing typical issues/situations and helping in resolving them
    • Ensure speakers in OLP have signed contracts and all necessary certifications
    • Interface with field sales teams, in-house teams, and vendors on a weekly basis
  • Vendor Management
    • Primary sponsor and point of contact for the vendor that manages the Speaker Resource Center; responsible for business reviews and annual planning, monthly tracking and execution of projects related to this system
    • Effectively liaises with vendors, or agencies to ensure satisfactory service levels and coordinates with relevant teams to resolve issues as they come up
  • Strategic Responsibilities
    • Builds relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams like Business Conduct, Data Strategy & Governance, Sales Analytics, Commercial IT and Gilead IT
    • Recommends process improvements to OLP Ops ecosystem and actively participates in future planning
  • Budget Management
    • Has responsibility for managing the budget for the OLP (Opinion Leader Program) Operations group, for all projects and external vendors/agencies
    • Support group lead in annual budget planning activities


  • Strong working knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g. Office Suite, web-based databases, etc.) is required
  • Strong communication and analytical skills are required
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills in order to interact with, focus, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among cross-functional teams
  • Written communication - writes clearly and informatively in email communications, memos, and training materials
  • Strong platform skills (i.e. speaking, executive presence during presentations)
  • Ability to work with and coordinate demands from multiple internal stakeholders
  • Ability to perform at a high-level in a matrix team
  • Planning and organization - able to prioritize activities and workload, taking a systematic approach to addressing issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to assume full responsibility for accuracy, reliability, and timelines of deliverables completed through own efforts
  • Ability to provide influential recommendations to commercial business leaders
  • Ability to manage projects and multi-task in a deadline intensive environment
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is required, as is a solid understanding of principles relating to the area of OLP/KOL
  • Specific vendor/agency management experience
  • Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry required
  • Bachelors in Business/Arts plus 5-10+ years' experience or Master/MBA plus 2-8+ years' experience in sales/marketing analysis or statistical analysis within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
