This position can be hired at a level I, II, or III commensurate with experience.

 

Position Purpose

Efficiently, effectively & safely clean, setup & operate manufacturing equipment to achieve production goals, while adhering to applicable Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

 

Accountabilities

  • Work in a safe & environmentally responsible manner
  • Setup, operate, monitor & control equipment, systems & processes
  • Clean & sanitize manufacturing, filling & packaging rooms & equipment per SOPs
  • Execute production schedule to achieve production goals
  • Handle labeling & components correctly; transferring, counting, FIFO, returns, etc.
  • Actively participate in & support event response
  • Review & author SOPs & other documents as required
  • Identify, report & resolve quality issues
  • Execute &/or assist during equipment maintenance, including restoration of lost function, predictive & preventative maintenance
  • Train fellow employees in areas of expertise & aggressively learn systems & equipment outside of own expertise. (With the appropriate experience & skill level.)
  • Record/review production data in BPR & associated forms
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds within the facility using various body positions
  • Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
  • Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift
  • Corrected vision to 20/30
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment & can work atop elevated positions
  • Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials
  • May be required to wear latex gloves
  • Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • May be required to work for short periods of time with respiratory protection

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Operator I minimum requirements:
    • One (1) year of experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Operator II minimum requirements:
    • Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing industry
    • Three (3) years of Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulated industry & solid dose manufacturing experience
  • Operator III minimum requirements:
    • Eight (8) years of experience in a manufacturing industry
    • Five (5) years of FDA regulated industry & solid dose manufacturing experience
  • Operator II minimum requirements:
    • Demonstrated ability to train new hires on processes & technical requirements (SOPs)
  • Operator III minimum requirements:
    • Demonstrated experience in leading equipment troubleshooting, including restoration of lost function & maintenance
    • Demonstrated ability to train & mentor team members on processes & technical requirements (SOPs)

 

Desired Qualifications

  • AA/AS/AAS degree in a relevant technical field preferred
  • BioWork graduate desired
  • Operator I minimum requirements:
    • FDA regulated industry & solid dose manufacturing experience preferred
  • Operator III minimum requirements:
    • Three (3) years of experience working within a Novo Nordisk manufacturing facility
  • Operator I minimum requirements:
    • Ability to read, write & understand complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to detail
    • Computer literacy
    • Some basic mechanical skills
  • Operator II minimum requirements:
    • Demonstrated proficiency in three (3) or more or processes listed in the Process Alignment list above
    • Demonstrated experience in executing equipment troubleshooting, including restoration of lost function & maintenance

 

Organization/Planning

Proven expertise in planning/organizing, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work plan

 

Material Handling

Demonstrated past ability to perform basic material handling tasks & safely & effectively use material handling equipment.
