Vitalant is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to bring skilled technical support to our high complexity testing reference laboratory.This role will work in STAT Blood Bank located in Chicago.

As a Med Lab Scientist, you'll get to:

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and crossmatch.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
• Conduct training, observations, competency assessments and documentation.
• Participate in technical investigative studies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.

  • • Must have a degree in Medical Lab Science OR an ASCP certification as MLS /MT
    • $37.16/hour

  
  MLS II
  

  • • ASCP MLS/BB certification required.
    • Two years in a Clinical Laboratory setting required.
    • $42.73-$44.77/hour

  
  MLS III
  

  • • Certification :SBB preferred MLS /BB accepted
    • 3 years lab exp with 1 year IRL
    • 2 years lead/charge experience required
    • $49.14-51.48

  
  MLS IV
  

  • • Must satisfy CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required.
    • Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification required.
    • Five years of laboratory testing experience required.
    • One year of IRL experience preferred.
    • $59.20
