Medical Scientific Liaison - West Coast

Overview

The MSL role serves as a conduit of information to external stakeholders (clinicians of different disciplines, patients) as it pertains to the organization's CP-GEP model, and other potential tests that organization pursues in the field of cuteanous melanoma. The MSL will be a resource for these stakeholders and commercial personnel for field education activities, oncology conferences and industry trade shows, physician and patient advocacy group presentations, on various matters related to melanoma new research and clinical developments or CP-GEP clinical trial activities.

The MSL position will involve cultivating and maintaining relationships with Academic Researchers, Key Opinion Leaders, Heads of Oncology, Surgery, and Dermatology Departments at major University Institutions, as well as biotech industry Thought Leaders. The MSL will be responsible for attending Oncology and Diagnostic Conferences, presenting information to treating physicians and surgeons, both in field and cold calling capacities, as well as pre-arranged presentations and appointments.

The MSL will work intensively with internal personnel at every step of the product development process if needed; additionally, the MSL will assist with CP-GEP's scientific and medical messaging and work closely with the Regional Business Managers as applicable


Responsibilities

  • Meet with KOLs such as physicians and healthcare professionals, and visit key medical and academic institutions
  • Interact with clinical practice guideline committee members
  • Respond to requests for information, clinical and technical, to clients (external and internal)
  • Host advisory boards, clinical presentations, patient advocacy group presentations


Requirements
Education:
  • PhD in oncology research, or a medical education Experience & knowledge


Experience and Knowledge
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a research or clinical setting


Skills and Competences:
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to create and sustain relationships with clinical thought leaders, researchers, community physicians, internal and external non-medical personnel
  • Skilled in clinical research and understanding the process of research, and of the pharmaceutical or diagnostics product development process
  • Fluent in English (writing and communication)
  • Above average communication and organizational skill
  • Technical/clinical ability to scientifically advise and educate peer-to-peer level with doctors and KOLs, as well as internally
  • Identifying and engaging key scientific and clinical relationships for the company strategic direction
  • Team player
