At our Company in Elkton, Virginia, we have Manufacturing Operations Specialist positions available. The manufacturing plant is in the Shenandoah Valley along the Shenandoah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, a short distance from major state universities: University of Virginia and James Madison University.
The Manufacturing Operations Specialist is assigned to a product manufacturing team and partners with the Operations Managers to coordinating maintenance activities and ensure the manufacturing area is operating at peak efficiency.
Providing reliable equipment and utilities for the product team by driving the execution, prioritization, and coordination of maintenance work to maximize productivity
Learning other business functions that support manufacturing operations (Quality, Validation, Supplies Inspection, Automation, Warehouse, Powerhouse, Waste Treatment, Environmental Monitoring, Utilities)
Working with the Operations Manager and product team to measure, analyze and improve equipment uptime and reliability
Respond to facility alarms
Supervise clean room disinfection and testing
Participation in real time deviation investigations
Working a shift schedule that includes all days of the week and all hours of the day.
Production Batch Record Review
Batch record remediation and update execution
Support deliverables for Data Integrity remediation
Support Shift Managers and Senior Specialists deliverables
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or similar discipline) or related scientific field and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance or Military environments – OR - High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Manufacturing, Maintenance or Military environments.
Required Experience and Skills:
Experience troubleshooting and resolving equipment failures by collaborating with and assigning mechanical tradesmen to execute the work.
Experience in safely securing mechanical system, tanks and utilities for execution of work and confined space entry.
Demonstrated record of successfully working in team environments and influencing people with a broad range of skills and experience.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Goals:
sterile manufacturing equipment and sterile/aseptic techniques
various types of rotating equipment
utility equipment; including chillers, heat exchangers, AHU, WFI generation, clean steam generation and cold storage
SAP Plant Maintenance management system
a regulated industry; such pharmaceuticals, food, and or nuclear
a cGMP environment
Demonstrated record of learning new skills, taking on new responsibilities, and continuously improving leadership skills
Desire to advance into manufacturing management roles
Experience with SAP
