Vir Biotechnology (Vir) is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the Drug Product Process Development and Formulation group. The Research Associate will execute experiments to support formulation development and process development activities for early and late-stage clinical development programs.


    • Perform characterization of drug product formulations using various analytical, rheological and biophysical techniques
    • Optimize and execute in-use stability studies to support clinical administration procedures and handling instructions
    • Optimize and implement experiments to support process conditions for drug product manufacturing
    • Author study protocols, development reports and summarize and verify data for regulatory filings
    • Work cross-functionally to support other areas of the CMC organization, such upstream/ downstream process development and analytical/QC.


    • BS/MS in Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field and 4+ years of proven experience in formulation or drug product development.
    • Wet lab experience with preparation of biologic drug products or formulations and analytical characterization (i.e. HPLC, CE, LS/MS, DSC, DLS, etc.)
    • Technical writing skills and experience authoring technical protocols, development reports, SOPs or other documents.
