We are seeking a Site Planner to support operations at our commercial biotechnology facility in El Segundo.

Under minimal supervision, this position's main accountabilities are focused on managing scheduling and planning activities in support of manufacturing operations while closely collaborating with the Manufacturing, Quality and Materials Management Units at the El Segundo site as well as with the Corporate Supply Chain and Clinical Logistics Units in Santa Monica.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide and maintain detailed site scheduling production plans for all clinical and commercial products at TCF03 (El Segundo) to assure no gaps or delays in processing, release, and shipments
• Develop and implement logistics and planning tools through MS Project, spreadsheet and relational databases for supply chain, procurement and operations teams
• Work with Supply Chain, IT, Finance and other teams to support/develop ERP modules to address logistics and planning issues
• Create and maintain planning and logistics metrics to enable process improvements
• Minimize variability and align logistics, demand planning and sourcing to ensure minimum financial impact and uninterrupted manufacturing operations and cold chain workflow
• Support patient driven demand of apheresis/nanocool kit shipments, final frozen product LN2 shipments collaboratively across the site to ensure that shipment requests are timely coordinated for both clinical and commercial products
• Support changes in BOM, demand and supply, perform planning assessment as needed; support raw material inventory and supply control as required
• In collaboration with Supply Chain, develop/support forecasts and maintain long-term inventory plans and models for raw materials and supplies
• Coordinate activities required to support the manufacture, packaging, labeling, shipping, and distribution of clinical and commercial materials
• Working with Supply Chain, order healthy donor apheresis material in support of training/engineering runs
• Working with Clinical Operations, order LN2 dewars for clinical shipments
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, project management or related business administration is required with a certification in logistics or planning preferred
• At least 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry with 3 years of relevant logistics and planning - clinical and commercial supply experience at a pharmaceutical or biotech company in a planning and supply chain management role preferred
• Experience working closely with Manufacturing, Project Management, functional team leaders, clinical teams, contract manufacturing partners and/or cold chain shippers and logistics providers
• Excellent MS Office and MS Project skills
• In depth knowledge of material requirements planning and production scheduling
• Demonstrated technical skills and mindset in logistic and cold chain management including process optimization and delivery of patient kits
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain; international distribution experience (Pharmaceuticals) preferred
• Additional specific qualifications in the area of clinical supplies demand and logistics/ or planning management including and APICs, CPIM, and related processional certifications preferred
• Critical attention to detail is necessary for this role
• Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
• Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
• Able to work after hours, weekends, and on call as needed
