Position Purpose
Primary purpose is to be a System Engineer for PSnet with responsibility for maintaining and operate IT infrastructure and providing a shared global IT infrastructure for Product Supply (PS) in Novo Nordisk (NN), based on PSnet. Responsible for ensuring operational excellence. Responsible for ensuring a standardized platform world-wide in PS to establish strong relationship with users, owners, customers, and suppliers.
Accountabilities
Operate, maintain, and support Infrastructure services as follows:
- Operation and maintenance of Global Information Technology Operations – Production Infrastructure (GITO-PI) infrastructure services
- Handling incidents, requests, and changes in NN service management tool
- Follow GITO-PI standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow GITO-PI standard Change Procedures.
- Take responsibility for deliveries to line of business in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements
- Support life cycle management activities together with GITO-PI product teams.
- Take technical responsibility for managing major incidents (issues critical to IT and business continuity)
- Drive process optimization and automation initiatives to ensure optimized delivery of standard services
- Ensure that the infrastructure is maintained in a qualified state by follow procedures in our quality management system
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with high level technical certifications (Citrix, Virtualization, and Security Certifications such as Citrix Certified Associate - Networking (CCA-N), Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization (CCA-V), VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certifications, Cloud Certifications) required
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with assigned infrastructure services, automation and technologies from large corporations required
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience covering specification, design, implementation, maintenance, and automation of solutions in large organizations required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in working on mid-large IT projects required
- IT Services and IT process knowledge required
- Communicate standards in an easy understandable form on all levels of the organization – globally required
- Ability to demonstrate a global mindset required
- Technical background within Citrix products:
- Solid understanding and work experience with Citrix, Virtualization operational support and Citrix infrastructure patch management for multiple platforms
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in trouble-shooting Citrix issues and Application/Windows Operating system issues
- Solid understanding and work experience with managing, deploying Citrix for applications and experience in Physical and Virtual Desktop (VDI) environments, NetScaler, App-V and XenApp
- Good understanding of infrastructure, operations domain area, other IT technologies (e.g., covering networks, servers, platforms, applications, etc.
- Independent Decision Making required:
- Launch of initiatives to secure close global cooperation and coordination with sites
- Since the area of responsibility and point of contact is wide, the degree of independent decisions is high in order to secure a smooth daily operation
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently required
- Exceptional customer-facing skills required:
- Experience in dealing with third party infrastructure and manufacturing services preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field of study from an accredited university preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with working within a manufacturing environment required, pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred
- Understanding of security aspects of supported IT infrastructure services and technologies preferred
- Understanding of generic infrastructure related technologies preferred
- Project management skills a plus
- Strong general business understanding preferred
- Stakeholder Management preferred:
- Build strong relations to Line of Business on NN sites, primary in the supported region
- Collaborate with Line of Business System Managers within supported region
- Collaborate across products/technologies inside the Americas HUB
- Collaborate across products/technologies with GITO-PI DK and GBS
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and GITO-PI Senior Architects on technical solutions within supported region
- Collaborate with GITO-PI Quality Controllers and GITO-PI Service Managers to ensure infrastructure is maintained in a qualified state
- Agile skills a plus:
- Support the Agile way and support the processes e.g., DSU, DEMO, PI Planning
- Knowledge on Agile principles and methodology
- Knowledge on Agile tools e.g., Kanban
- Understanding of the Agile mindset and culture
- Level of independence, innovation and initiative preferred:
- Contribute to identifying innovative improvements and bring suggestions
- Collaborate with external consultants for implementations of standard infrastructure and security services
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with regulatory requirements a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills preferred
- Large degree of flexibility and the ability to work under strong time pressure preferred
- Expert in utilizing appropriate root-cause analysis tools and techniques preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in planning/organizing, leading execution, checking results, and revising the work plan for assigned resources on complex problems being resolved by cross functional global teams
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
- Ability to work the hours necessary to support twenty-four/seven (24/7) continuous manufacturing operations
- Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other time zones, if necessary
- Occasionally moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to thirty-three (33) pounds
- Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment using hands
- Ability to travel internationally, up to ten percent (10%) of the time
- Ability at times to work in loud noise environments
