Associate Chemical Engineer

This position will be part of a manufacturing support team that refines precious metals and fabricates gold & non-gold alloys into sheets & grains. This team also monitors and controls plating chemical quality and provides environmental support for our wastewater treatment program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and laboratory work but would also help with the refining and metal fabrication tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform chemical & metal analyses, record and interpret data accurately, and implement adjustments when needed.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including XRF analyzer, ICP, atomic absorption spectrometer, fire assay equipment.
  • Ability to work in refinery & metal fabrication areas including incineration, gas-furnace melting, casting, metal sheet rolling, metal graining, and wastewater management. Some heaving lifting is required.
  • Must pass annual physical exam and participate in our HAZWOPER team.



Qualifications:

- Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant chemical major, or equivalent work experience in the chemical field.



- Experience:

  • Prior laboratory and analytical experience.



- Skills:

  • Ability to apply judgment in handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Knowledge of chemical properties and composites.
  • Ability to translate chemistry complexities into basic terminology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with ever-changing conditions.



Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience or education in metallurgy is a plus.
