Associate Director Data Strategist Patient Acquisition - Remote Opportunity

Remote Opportunity - Open to candidates anywhere in the greater United States 

 

SUMMARY:

This role will lead Lundbeck’s data strategy for the Patient Experience, supporting Lundbeck’s Patient Acquisition team, focusing on neurology patient data assets (e.g., data generated from Specialty Infusion Providers, Specialty Pharmacy, and Patient Support Program data contracts) Specifically, this role will play a pivotal role in driving solutions that will serve as the foundation for driving patient journey analytics and inform enhanced patient experiences. This role will work in close collaboration with the Patient Acquisition, Market Access Analytics, BI Reporting, and Data Management teams.  This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and an understanding of market access dynamics (channel, hub, copay, field access support). This position understands business challenges, creates technical approaches for supporting analytical solutions, oversees their deployment and ongoing supportability.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of data systems and platforms to support analytics and business intelligence across trade, reimbursement, and patient support data domains.

  • Utilize advanced data science and analytics capabilities to define the optimal organization, tools, technology, and processes to meet the evolving needs of the Patient Acquisition team.

  • Develop code for database modification, construction, and access, leveraging stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

  • Develop technical data mapping and advanced analytics solutions/models to solve business problems.

  • Gather data requirements and oversee the implementation and onboarding of new specialty infusion providers, patient support programs, and other patient data sources.

  • Lead vendor evaluations in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to ensure alignment with prioritized data requirements.

  • Oversee all aspects of day-to-day patient acquisition data operations, including managing data aggregation vendor activities.

  • Provide support to end users and administrators to resolve complex business and/or technical problems.

  • Ensure data integrity by partnering with Data Management teams to address specific data validity requirements.

  • Act as an internal authority on Patient Acquisition data, offering expertise on data sources and their application to optimize the utilization of each data asset.

  • Create comprehensive data inventories, catalogs, and definitions encompassing relevant Patient Acquisition ecosystem concepts to enhance data accessibility, visibility, and understanding among stakeholders.

  • Implement linking of first- and third-party patient data assets to facilitate longitudinal analytics across the patient journey, spanning specialty pharmacy, specialty infusion providers, hubs, and syndicated data sets.

  • Demonstrate creative and strategic thinking abilities, foster cross-functional alliances, influence change, and exhibit flexibility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelors Degree

  • 8+ years experience in Big Data, Data Warehousing, data analytics, and/or Information Management with 5 of those years within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • Experience in structuring solutions for high-scale data environments that support high transaction volume and scalable BI-driven data architecture

  • Experience in analyzing large data sets and connecting disparate data source using complex business rules

  • Experience working with patient level datasets including first party sources such as Patient Support Programs & Specialty Infusion Provider dispense data and Syndicated Sales & Claims data (e.g. IQVIA, MMIT, Komodo, Clarivate, IPD Analytics, Analysource, SSR, and related)

  • Experience with data, analytics, and technology solutions (AWS/other cloud platforms, SQL, Databricks, Tableau, SAS, Python, R, etc.)

  • Experience developing Business/Functional Requirements documentation and facilitating requirements work sessions with business partners

  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and influence across cross-functional teams  

  • Knowledge of market access dynamics (e.g. payers, IDNs, specialty pharmacy, patient access, trade distribution)

  • Demonstrated strong skills in oral and written communication. Proven ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences and vice-versa.

  • Experience with medical benefit therapies

 

TRAVEL:

  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 40% domestically. International travel may be required.

 

The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $150,000 - $185,000 and eligibility for a 20% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
