The State of New Hampshire, Fish and Game Department has a part time, vacancy for biological technician.
Summary:
Conducts data collection, analysis and science communication at the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GBNERR). Encourages the use of the reserve for scientific inquiry by visiting researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must in the biological, environmental, physical sciences or a related field.
License/Certification: Valid Driver's License
Other Requirements:
1. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the agency.
2. Ability to conduct physical tasks and work outdoors in inclement weather for extended periods, comfortable working in coastal environments including form a boat.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of species and habitats common to coastal New Hampshire. Ability to operate equipment needed to conduct field research. Excellent verbal and written presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work with databases. Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:
Conducts field research activities and lab analysis as needed related to vegetation, wildlife, fish and water quality in the Great Bay Estuary.
Conduct data management, storage and retrieval for monitoring efforts conducted at GBNERR.
Analyzes data and writes reports summarizing trends and findings in order to track coastal habitat and species changes.
Responds to public, private and governmental requests for technical presentations related to the science conducted at GBNERR.
Prepares and submits reports of technical information for public use and use by the GBNERR education and training staff.
Coordinates with GBNERR staff to convene research symposiums and workshops that highlight science conducted in the Great Bay Estuary.
Represents the Reserve and research interests and opportunities at conferences and university campuses; works with Reserve staff, regional and local partners, and volunteers to represent GBNERR science.
Assists Reserve staff in implementing and recording process recommendations related to recruitment of science fellow and intern applications, selection, and onboarding.
