Work Schedule: Mon- Fri 8am- 5pm
Pay Range: $40.00 - $45.40/hr
Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent
Requirements
- Bachelors with 3+ years/Masters with 0+ years of laboratory research experience in academia/industry
- Solid understanding of principles of common molecular and cellular biology protocols and techniques
- Experience performing basic techniques in molecular biology and cell biology, such as cell culture, aseptic technique, transient transfection, ddPCR
- Detail oriented, with experience handling high-value biological samples
- Prior research experience with protein expression systems
- Experience in HEK293 and/or Sf9 cell culture systems
- Viral vector gene therapy experience, preferably AAV
Responsibilities
The Biologist will support the Process Development of novel therapeutic candidates by performing hands-on, bench-level research as well as buffer preparation, sample processing, aliquoting, and analyses. The candidate will work on setting up lab platform systems ranging from inventory of various critical samples to equipment maintenance. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with the Analytical Development team by being the liaison for sample submissions. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Execute on AAV batch production to support nonclinical research needs
- Passage and split cells regularly for use in various lab studies.
- Perform PCR on samples generated by the Process Development team.
- Prepare aliquots for study samples and manage the -80C/LN2 freezer inventory.
- Keep detailed notebooks in ELN and reports describing experimental methods/results.
- Manage the maintenance of equipment and instruments.
- Critically assess data generated from diverse experimental approaches in cell and molecular biology
