Microbiology Laboratory Technician
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a microbiology laboratory is preferred.
- A degree in Life Sciences with microbiology coursework is preferred.
- Candidates currently pursuing a degree in Microbiology who have completed basic laboratory coursework may also be considered.
Responsibilities
The Microbiology Laboratory Technician will work as part of a laboratory team performing routine microbiological testing in support of consumer product development and quality activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform standard microbiological testing, including:
- Preservative effectiveness testing
- Microbial limits testing
- Time-kill kinetic studies
- In vivo testing
- Prepare microbiological media in large quantities.
- Operate an autoclave and perform routine sterilization activities.
- Handle live microorganisms in accordance with established laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform basic microbiological testing and sample preparation.
- Support general laboratory housekeeping activities, including glassware and dish washing.
- Record, document, and report test results accurately.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, protocols, and safety practices.
- Work collaboratively as part of the microbiology laboratory team.
- Perform assigned laboratory activities independently once appropriate training has been completed.
