Job Description:
The Protein Science group within Biologics and Genetic Medicine is seeking a motivated Scientist with hands-on experience in protein characterization and LC-MS-based bioanalysis. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of advanced, robust analytical methods for the characterization of diverse molecular formats, including peptides and proteins.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement high-resolution LC-MS methods for peptide mapping and intact protein analysis.
- Perform sample handling, preparation, and characterization using LC-MS and related analytical techniques (Western blotting, SEC-MALS, ELISA, and spectroscopy).
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, including LC-MS systems, HPLC, and biological sample extraction systems.
- Perform data analysis and interpretation to support experimental outcomes.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of experiments, results, and procedures in compliance with laboratory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support biologics development projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field (master's preferred; PhD considered overqualified).
- 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience in protein science or analytical biochemistry.
- Basic understanding of protein characterization techniques, including LC-MS, SEC-MALS, and Western blotting.
- Strong skills in sample preparation for peptide mapping and proteomics.
- Experience in basic instrument operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to maintain accurate experimental records.
