Biology Lab Student Technician - NYC

Description

The Biology Department is seeking student laboratory Technicians. Students will provide technical assistance concerning experimental preparations and procedures for laboratory classes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited To:

• Preparing undergraduate laboratory classes, including solutions and microbiological media and cultures;
• Setting up laboratory classes, bringing in all the necessary materials before the class;
• Cleaning up after laboratory classes, including proper disposal of micro-waste and chemicals;
• Routine inventories of chemicals, lab supplies, and equipment;
• Operation and maintenance of lab equipment.

Safety training will be provided.

Requirements

• Must be a science major.
• Must have completed BIO 101 and BIO 102 and got a grade of B or above.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
