Job Summary:
Supports biomedical equipment by applying knowledge of electrical, mechanical, chemical and related engineering principles under the mentorship of another technician. Conducts equipment tests, ensures adherence to codes, completes preventive maintenance requirements and trains users. Provides customer service and technical support to biomedical equipment technicians.
Key Position Details:
Biomedical Equipment Technician Interns will practice their ability to locate key components and assemblies within equipment, using schematics and/or pictorial documents. Able to troubleshoot problems to determine likely cause of issue and correct issue. Documentation is completed in CEMS consistently within procedural timeframes. Work orders are clear and concise, easily understood by another technician, manager, customer, and/or surveyor.
- Interns can work up to 32 hours per week
- Day shift and no weekends

Principle Responsibilities
- Under the mentorship of other Technicians:
- Performs preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment
- Performs repairs, installations and calibrations on equipment
- Provides customer service
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School degree or GED required
- Enrolled in a Biomedical / Electronic Engineering Equipment program
Physical Demands
- Medium Work*:
- Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $19.61 to $26.70 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
