Biomedical Technician

Location: South Carolina (In-Office + 75%+ Regional Travel)

Medical Application Repair & Sales (MARS) is a leading provider of medical equipment service and support across South Carolina and Georgia. We specialize in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mission-critical equipment for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and other healthcare facilities.

We're seeking an Entry-Level Biomedical Technician who's ready to learn, travel, and grow into a specialist role focusing on sterilizers, anesthesia systems, and surgical equipment.

This is a hands-on role based out of our office when not traveling, with 75%+ travel expected to customer sites.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs of a wide range of medical devices (starting with general biomedical support)
  • Shadow and train alongside senior field techs on sterilizers, anesthesia machines, and surgical equipment (Steris, Getinge, Tuttnauer, Primus, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
  • Maintain service records, documentation, and compliance logs
  • Provide on-site support at healthcare facilities and act as a professional point of contact for MARS
  • Help ensure equipment meets all safety and regulatory standards
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for emergency repairs once trained

What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical aptitude and a desire to work hands-on with medical equipment
  • Willingness and ability to travel 75%+ throughout South Carolina and Georgia
  • Comfortable working in-office when not traveling
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, or plumbing knowledge (trade school or hobbyist experience a plus)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to learn quickly
  • High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and compliance

Bonus Points For:

  • Previous experience with biomedical equipment, sterilizers, anesthesia systems, or related tech (Steris, Getinge, Tuttnauer, Primus, Mindray, etc.)
  • Military or facilities maintenance experience
  • OEM certifications or technical school certificates in biomed, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical fields

Why Join MARS?

  • Hands-on, paid training with a clear pathway to progress into specialist roles (Sterilizer & Anesthesia Technician)
  • Ongoing certifications and OEM training opportunities
  • Competitive starting salary with regular reviews as you grow
  • Full benefits: health insurance, paid time off, 401(k)
  • Company vehicle, tools, and travel expense coverage once field-ready
  • Work with a tight-knit team that values skill, safety, and professional growth

Your Career Path

You'll start by supporting general biomedical services and build up to independently handling sterilizer/autoclave and anesthesia machine service calls - gaining OEM certifications and developing specialized skills that are in high demand across the industry.

If you're looking for a long-term career with room to grow, not just a job, apply now and become part of a company that invests in your future.
