Biomedical Technician
Location: South Carolina (In-Office + 75%+ Regional Travel)
Medical Application Repair & Sales (MARS) is a leading provider of medical equipment service and support across South Carolina and Georgia. We specialize in the repair, maintenance, and installation of mission-critical equipment for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and other healthcare facilities.
We're seeking an Entry-Level Biomedical Technician who's ready to learn, travel, and grow into a specialist role focusing on sterilizers, anesthesia systems, and surgical equipment.
This is a hands-on role based out of our office when not traveling, with 75%+ travel expected to customer sites.
What You'll Do
- Assist with installation, preventive maintenance, and repairs of a wide range of medical devices (starting with general biomedical support)
- Shadow and train alongside senior field techs on sterilizers, anesthesia machines, and surgical equipment (Steris, Getinge, Tuttnauer, Primus, etc.)
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
- Maintain service records, documentation, and compliance logs
- Provide on-site support at healthcare facilities and act as a professional point of contact for MARS
- Help ensure equipment meets all safety and regulatory standards
- Be part of an on-call rotation for emergency repairs once trained
What We're Looking For
- Strong technical aptitude and a desire to work hands-on with medical equipment
- Willingness and ability to travel 75%+ throughout South Carolina and Georgia
- Comfortable working in-office when not traveling
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or plumbing knowledge (trade school or hobbyist experience a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to learn quickly
- High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and compliance
Bonus Points For:
- Previous experience with biomedical equipment, sterilizers, anesthesia systems, or related tech (Steris, Getinge, Tuttnauer, Primus, Mindray, etc.)
- Military or facilities maintenance experience
- OEM certifications or technical school certificates in biomed, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical fields
