Additional Information:
The Biomedical Technician II will provide biomedical technology support for clinical departments by maintaining therapeutic and diagnostic equipment to insure the availability of technology to the point of care in a safe and professional manner.
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED or equivalent
Recommended Education:
Associate's Degree in a related field of study.
Required Work Experience:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.

Description
1. Troubleshoots and inspects diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment.
2. Provides service support for standard and moderately complex patient care equipment.
3. Manages small scale projects with regards to medical equipment or networked medical
systems.
4. Uses test equipment, hand tools, service manuals and online documentation.
5. Prioritizes work according to availability of backups, criticality of service, and customer's expectation.
6. Completes 100% Life Support PMs and a minimum of 95% Non-Life Support PMs that are assigned monthly.
7. Provides service support that is mostly independent of other Clinical Engineering staff or administrative direction.
8. Designs or modifies device PM checklists and schedules to be effective in preventing failure while ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
9. Documents service activity for assigned areas in the medical equipment database.
