BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN (OKLAHOMA CITY, OK)

Our Blood Institute is actively looking for a Biomedical Technician. This position will ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of biomedical equipment by performing maintenance, calibration, repair, and support activities across a range of devices and systems.
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Pay: Competitive pay to include shift differential and holiday pay and is based on education and/or experience and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred OR 2 years of experience in a biomedical or laboratory environment; blood center or healthcare experience preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a current driver's license
- Must be able to provide an MVR with zero points and no moving/traffic violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to solve problems and improve processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects under tight time constraints.
- Technical writing experience preferred; Excel and Word experience required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing parts to ensure that biomedical equipment and internal circuitry meets organizational requirements
- Perform equipment calibrations and support departmental calibration activities as needed.
- Assist in maintaining a systematic preventive maintenance program for biomedical equipment and instrumentation
- Track equipment location and ensure timely completion of repairs, inspections, and routine cleaning.
- Maintain accurate schedules for maintenance and quality control (QC) activities to support operational excellence.
- Perform and/or assist with initial validation of new storage devices through the Central Monitoring System (CMS), monitor and review temperatures for storage devices/areas and investigate/resolve temperature excursions.
- Print and review CMS weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly graphs; clear completed work orders and track open orders for timely completion.
- Provide training and guidance to personnel on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Provide recommendations regarding purchase of biomedical equipment and instrumentation.
- Review annual CMS calibration records system-wide, perform quarterly alarm checks, and add/remove new users to the CMS platform.
- Perform verifications as required for new standard operating procedure implementations regarding biomedical equipment.
