City of Hope is seeking a talented Biostatistician I to support clinical trial and observational study data under the guidance of a Ph.D.-level biostatistician. This role contributes to research database development, study data collection, and division-level methodological research projects.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Consult on assigned research projects under the supervision of a Ph.D.-level biostatistician.
- Program statistical analyses using statistical software packages and connect statistical methods to medical or biological research questions.
- Collaborate with department personnel on the design, quality control, analysis, and reporting of research protocols.
- Prepare summary reports of results and analytic methods, including tabular and graphic data displays.
- Monitor the accumulation, timeliness, and quality of data for protocol portfolios or research data categories.
- Develop special projects, establish schedules, monitor progress, and participate in statistical analysis planning.
- Support research database development, including data quality checks in electronic data capture systems, and create documentation for computer programs.
- Maintain department records, reports, and files while enhancing professional growth through educational programs, literature review, meetings, and workshops.
Your qualifications should include:
- Master's Degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field.
- Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
- One year experience in biostatistical consulting and analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of statistical software packages including R and other
- statistical and database applications.
- Experience with graphics, spreadsheet, and word-processing software in a windows environment.
