GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation . The Exercise Physiologist's primary job function is to promote wellness by instructing, demonstrating, and supervising clients/patients in all related areas of exercise and rehabilitation. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science required
- Master's Degree in Exercise Science preferred
Licensure:
- BLS within 90 days of hire required
- ACLS within 1 year of hire required
Experience:
- Completion of internship or six months job related work required.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

- Assists in clinical operations in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Conducts exercise/fitness evaluations, exercise prescriptions and target heart rates.
- Orients Cardiopulmonary rehab graduates who become a phase III member to exercise programs and equipment.
- Facilitates/provides patient and family teaching using appropriate teaching strategies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Oversees and assist Cardiopulmonary Rehab Phase III.
- Participates in discharge planning process.
