Cardiology Exercise Physiologist

Description

• Review and abstraction of patient medical records.
• Exercise and pharmacologic stress test supervision and preliminary test interpretation.
• Administration and interpretation of cardiopulmonary exercise tests.
• Static and dynamic EKG monitoring and interpretation (12 lead and rhythm strips).
• Patient ECG hook-up.
• Holter monitor set-up, removal and editing of data for interpretation.
• Rest and exercise blood pressure monitoring.
• Ensures equipment conforms with operating standards.
• Research data collection.
• Provision of technical support in emergency situations (ACLS).

Requirements

BLS required upon hire and maintained throughout employment. ACLS required within 90 days of employment and maintained throughout employment. Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan or a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology. Requires good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to provide physical assistance to patients when needed. Candidate needs to demonstrate excellent 12 Lead EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills. Previous work experience in stress testing or cardiac rehabilitation is desirable. Minimum one-year experience in exercise physiology preferred.
