Registered Nurse Job Description:

The Staff Nurse, RN provides professional nursing care through the application of nursing skills and processes to develop, implement, and evaluate patient's plan of care; while creating an atmosphere that supports our vision: To be our regions' most trusted partner in healthcare. The Staff Nurse, RN as the primary caregiver provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other care team members, the physician and the patient/family to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The incumbent has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with others. The Staff Nurse, RN works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and under the indirect supervision of the Director of Nursing.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation and analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or issues.
  • Outcomes / Evaluation Identification, Planning and Implementation: identifies suspected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation and implements the identified plan, coordinating care delivery and employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes and accurately completes all documentation.
  • Quality of Practice: systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Education, Professional Practice Evaluation and Research: attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and evaluates one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes and regulations. Integrates research findings into practice. Keeps current on knowledge within scope of practice. Chapter 4723-4 Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) requires the RN to remain current.
  • Collegiality: interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Collaboration: collaborates with patient, family and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
  • Ethics: integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  • Resource utilization: considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services.


Minimum/Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within five (5) years from the date of hire.
  • Registered Nurse with current Ohio license



Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Description:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities to all age groups. The practitioner provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other team members, the physician, and the patient/family to achieve optimal outcomes. This position acts as a liaison with other clinical departments. The individual provides clinical leadership throughout the system. The incumbent has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and in collaboration with other team members, directors and physicians. The Registered Respiratory Therapist works under the indirect supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carries out physician orders according to protocols, best practices, and respiratory care policies.
  • Accurate and timely completion of patient assessment involving the evaluation of cardiopulmonary function and treatment effectiveness, and patient/family education to contribute to the development and ongoing evaluation of a multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Accurate and timely documentation/recording and communication of patient assessment findings, treatment effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Effective management and evaluation of critical/hazardous procedures in collaboration with other licensed health care professionals.
  • Accurately performs diagnostic procedures and cardiac monitoring with recognition of arrhythmias.
  • Accurately administers medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impairment.
  • Assists with new employee orientation and annual competency skills evaluations.
  • Takes an active department leadership role in Quality Improvement Processes.


Minimum/Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree with a concentration in Respiratory Therapy
  • Licensed by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board and Registered by the (NBRC) National Board for Respiratory Care
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support and NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program Completed
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation program completion required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • American Medical Association (AMA) approved associate degree program for Respiratory Therapy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care, emergency and diagnostic respiratory care procedures.



Cardiac Exercise Physiologist

The exercise physiologist is part of a multi-disciplinary team caring for patients participating in cardiac and pulmonary rehab. The exercise physiologist evaluates a patient's cardiovascular/pulmonary function and metabolism and then designs a fitness plan that will meet the patient's goals and/or needs, including building endurance and strength and increasing fitness and flexibility.

Required Educational Degree: Bachelor's Degree Exercise Science

Required Experience: 1-2 years' experience in exercise physiology
