Chemical Engineer
Job Title: Process R&D Engineer (Separation Science)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Process R&D Engineer to join our dedicated research team. You will be responsible for conducting hands-on laboratory experiments focused on advanced separation and purification science. The data you generate will serve as the foundation for scaling new material formulations from the bench to commercial production, as well as troubleshooting existing manufacturing processes to enhance yield and quality.
This is a critical role for an experimentalist who thrives in a high-paced lab environment. You will work within a collaborative team, contributing to the design of new test protocols, managing analytical sample flows, and translating technical data into actionable insights for the broader organization. If you are a curious, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys "solving the puzzle" of complex material processes, this is an excellent opportunity to make a measurable impact on our product pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Experimental Design & Execution
• Bench-to-Production: Plan and execute experimental work focused on complex separation and purification processes. Translate fundamental research into process parameters that can be validated at scale.
• Data Synthesis: Analyze complex experimental datasets and convert them into clear, usable reports. Present your findings to the broader engineering team to influence product design and manufacturing strategy.
• Analytical Management: Interface with internal analytical laboratories to submit test requests, coordinate sample flows, and interpret results to drive your experimental trajectory.
Collaboration & Compliance
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all experimental findings within electronic lab notebook (ELN) systems and internal databases.
• Continuous Improvement: Assist in troubleshooting commercial production issues as they arise, applying a root-cause approach to improve product quality and process consistency.
• Safety First: Actively participate in lab maintenance and safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace that adheres to the highest safety standards for handling chemicals.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
• Experience Baseline: Professional laboratory experience, ideally in an environment involving the handling of flammable or combustible materials.
• Communication: Ability to distill complex technical findings into presentations and reports for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and a high level of comfort with ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook) platforms.
Preferred Attributes
• A "fast learner" mindset-you are comfortable diving into new technical domains and mastering them quickly.
• Proven ability to oscillate between independent lab work and collaborative team-based project planning.
• Hands-on experience with advanced separation or purification technologies is highly valued.
