Chemical Engineering Intern (HGA-H)

Position Summary & Duties: The Chemical Engineering Intern is a part-time position working at the HGA office in The Woodlands, TX.

The Chemical Engineering Intern provides support to the department and to its project managers and engineers. The Intern will be exposed to a wide variety of engineering tasks and responsibilities. This position will work on a full-time basis during the Summer.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and/or collect the required process information used in the development of deliverables on major projects.
• Research and prepare information required by other process engineers or project managers during the execution of a project.
• Assist in the development of equipment sizing specifications, P&ID/PFD drawings, and complex process simulation models.
• Assist in the development of pressure relief documentation for clients (i.e. scenario identification, protected system sketches, required relief calculations, PSV sizing, etc.).
• Assist in the preparation of required of other process engineering documentation for projects as necessary.
• Assist in department meetings

Qualifications:
• Junior or Senior status towards completion of a BS degree in Chemical Engineering
• Candidates with 3.0 minimum GPA in core engineering and technology coursework are preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Demonstrated ability to finish projects with successful results
• Demonstrated self-motivation
• Demonstrated intellectual competency
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
• Well organized
• Able to deal with ambiguity
• Located within daily commuting distance of The Woodlands, TX
