Job Summary

Our client seeks a dedicated Chemist responsible for the day-to-day operations within the laboratory. Key duties include analyzing various types of quality control samples, ensuring adherence to approved test methods, and accurately documenting all analyses. The position supports the QA/QC organization by using problem-solving skills to aid in investigations and develop SOPs and test methods for the laboratory. Effective communication, detail orientation, organizational skills, and the use of analytical instrumentation are essential as the incumbent plans and responds to the analytical needs of a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze Quality Control Samples including Raw Material, In-Process, Finished Product, Stability, Validation, and Special Samples.
  • Follow approved test methods and properly record analyses.
  • Aid during laboratory testing investigations, recommending potential solutions.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and test methods for laboratory use.
  • Prepare, analyze, and calculate final results for all analytical sample types submitted to Pharmaceutical QC.
  • Ensure daily production schedules are met by planning and responding to laboratory needs.
  • Properly sort and dispose of hazardous waste analytical sample solutions and maintain the chemical cleanliness of work areas.
  • Assist weekly in laboratory supply and reagent inventory.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.
  • Ability to implement laboratory Standard Operating Procedures related to instrument use, sample analysis, document generation, control, personal safety, and environmental safety.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass a DEA background check.


Experience

  • 3+ years laboratory experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory.
