Chemist

Leidos is seeking a Chemist to provide synthesis, characterization, and analysis of energetic materials support to DEVCOM Armaments Center in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and execute synthesis and characterization of novel energetic materials and precursor materials.
• Apply advanced manufacturing techniques (continuous flow chemistry for example), process development tools (EZ Max), and process analytical tools to develop efficient synthetic processes
• Work in a laboratory setting operating various analytical instruments performing routine analysis and new method development of energetic materials analyses.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry
• 10+ years of relevant experience, specifically with energetic materials synthesis, characterization, and analysis
• Demonstrated experience in multi-step synthesis and spectral methods to establish chemical structures
• Proficiency in spectral analysis, operating continuous flow reactors, conducting process development utilizing EZ max reactors
• Proven track record of synthesis, analysis and problem solving
• US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Secret clearance if required

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
