The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Chemist in the Laboratory Production flight. Provides scientific, engineering skills, and instrumentation to analyze and test chemicals, materials, wastes, and components provided by external and internal customers. Provides first article testing, dimensional measurement, mechanical testing, failure analysis and specialized engineering tests concerning mechanical stresses, electrical and environmental factors for the complex.

- A Chemistry degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program or a closely related field is highly desired.
- Responsible for work area safety and is required to comply with all applicable safety directives. Unsafe conditions are immediately reported to the responsible office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
1. Professional mastery of a broad range of principles, theories and practices of the chemical specialty area encompassing analytical testing and process monitoring to support depot maintenance weapon system maintenance, and supply chain processes. Experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments such as preparing and conducting work that requires significant judgment in evaluating, selecting precedents and adapting or modifying procedures and acceptance criteria.
2. Skill in the interpretation and application of ASTM test methods and other standard chemical procedures as they apply to depot maintenance, weapon system maintenance, and supply chain processes.
Ability to apply and knowledge of chemical hygiene, lean, health, safety, environmental and security principles as outlined in applicable technical orders, regulations, practices, and/or procedures.
3. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conducts research, summarize results, monitor workload/projects, make appropriate recommendations, and develop innovative solutions. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
4. Ability to communicate (prepare technical reports, present results and analysis of problems, and present conclusions) effectively with others (both orally and in writing) in a courteous, tactful, and diplomatic manner to gain cooperation in achieving goals and to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups.
