Chemist

Job Title: Chemist
Location: Darien, CT
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Compensation: $40.00/hr
Type: 8-month contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

Responsibilities

• Successfully make hair color laboratory batches, conducting product stability, evaluate color performance, and record and report results
• Assist in the maintenance of laboratory raw materials, glassware, supplies, and waste
• Communicate formulation stability and efficacy results

Requirements

• BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field plus 0-4 years of experience
• Prior experience in Hair Color/Care or Consumer Products formulation
• Ability to lift bulk materials, fill consumer laboratory samples, and prepare hair tresses with application of consumer products and CGMP practices required
• Strong problem-solving skills and positive attitude
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Quick learner
• Strong data management (Excel etc.)
• Experience with lab equipment such as batching equipment, pH meters, viscometer, and interaction with raw material suppliers a plus
• Experience with Microsoft applications in a plus
