Job Description:
The Technical Services Chemist is a laboratory position that reports to the Technical Services Laboratory Manager. This position is responsible for performing routine analytical chemistry testing of manufacturing components and finished products to support the Industrial Division of Thatcher Company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine analytical testing on batches of finished products and manufacturing components.
- Enter batch testing results into the Laboratory Information Management System.
- Provide technical support during the development of new testing methods and procedures.
- Assist manufacturing staff with production issues through batch testing and lab batch preparation.
- Prepare QA documents such as Certificates of Analysis or Certificates of Compliance.
- Perform routine calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine preparation and certification of standardized reagents.
- Perform routine Laboratory cleaning.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Must have a BS/MS Chemistry. Specialization in Analytical chemistry preferred.
- Experience-based knowledge of chemical principles, chemical manufacturing processes, and chemical plant operations are a plus.
- Demonstrated communication, organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to perform routine chemistry calculations.
- Proficient with MS Office applications.
- Ability to quickly shift focus to accommodate changing production goals.
