Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Details
The Translational Research Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting IRB-approved oncology translational research studies and biobank operations at Thomas Jefferson University's Biorepository. This position involves direct patient interaction for consenting, specimen collection and processing, and data management. The ideal candidate will have prior laboratory experience and be comfortable working in clinical and lab settings, including operating rooms and the pathology department.

Job Description

It is important to note that this role does not involve conducting research. Instead, the coordinator facilitates research by supporting study logistics, specimen handling, and data entry.

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Development of study specific documents, checklists, and workflows.
  • Implement study procedures including consenting patients and procuring biospecimens.
  • Process samples in the laboratory for storage.
  • Input information about specimen collection and processing as well as patient information from chart review into database(s).
  • Coordinate with study sponsors, participants, and co-investigators which include physicians and researchers across departments internally and externally.
  • Coordinate projects stemming from the biorepository.
  • Prepare interim reports and statistics.

Education:

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

AND

Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree/Master's degree and previous experience preferred.
