Clinical Research Coordinator

The Department of Medicine seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator I to participate in an innovative program in cardiovascular disease research and clinical trials supported by the NIH and foundations. The individual will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement clinical trial protocols. Primary duties will entail that the Clinical Research Coordinator screens potential research participants; recruits participants; conducts informed consent; engages in administration of study procedures either in person or remotely; and enters relevant data into web-based interfaces for data entry and capture. This member of the study team will travel to multiple clinics in the Pittsburgh, PA, region, and interface with clinical and research staff.

Specific responsibilities are:

1. Have a comprehensive understanding of research objectives and prescreen research study participants accurately and consistently by applying inclusion and exclusion criteria.

2. Conduct procedures according to standardized protocols. Activities include discussing research aims and activities with community members and potential participants, conduct of informed consent, and administration of study-related measures and assessments.
