Job Summary
The Department of Surgery is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator III to work with one of our Lung Transplant Surgeons to manage clinical trials.
Responsibilities include recruitment, screening and enrolling of eligible patients into clinical trials. Guiding participants through the informed consent process and explain study expectations. Coordinate participant visits, schedules procedures, and handles day-to-day trial logistics. Gathers patient data, records vital signs, collects lab samples, and enters information into secure tracking systems. Ensures the trial follows federal regulations, ethical standards, and study protocols. Acts as a main link between patients, doctors, sponsors, and institutional review boards. Prepare for monitoring visits and audits and ensure compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Advanced leadership skills and empathy. Extensive knowledge and experience with the implementation of study-related activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High-level organizational skills. Able to problem-solve independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of research experience. Clinical research certification (CCRC, CCRA, CCRP, etc.) preferred.
