CLINICAL RESEARCH DATA COORDINATOR II
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Behavioral & Population Sciences, is seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Research Data Coordinator II.
This position supports multiple practice-based/public health research projects, including the NIH-funded Dental Implant Restoration Registry and the Bridges Project, focusing on the oral health of Alaska Native older adults.
The role involves coordinating study activities and managing complex data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and communicates effectively across teams. Experience with REDCap is essential, and experience with statistical software such as SAS or Stata is preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to troubleshoot and escalate data issues are essential.
General Responsibilities
- To design, implement and maintain clinical-based relational database management systems.
- To ensure operation and maintenance of departmental systems for data organization, collection, retrieval, and reporting purposes.
- To develop methods for tracking and reporting data and monitors incoming and outgoing data to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable regulatory agency policy.
- To research and collect information and enter data into established external data marts specific to clinical discipline and retrieves as necessary.
- To perform a variety of statistical analyses and summarizes results.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates all study activities with a focus on the processes related to study materials and database management.
- Implements and maintains databases, records, and files from studies.
- Develops methods to track and report data.
- Assists the biostatistician with statistical data analysis.
- Prepares research documentation.
- Plans and coordinates study activities and personnel.
- Serves as liaison between UAB staff and other stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range : $45,395 - $73,770
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

- The ability to proficiently multitask under a heavy workload is a plus.
- Must be highly motivated, dependable, result-oriented, and have strong organization and communication skills.
- Must be able to work as a member of a team and problem-solve.
- Have strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, especially)
