Job Description:
The UF Health Cancer Institute is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span all 16 colleges of the University of Florida, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.

As a Clinical Trials Screening Navigator at the UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI), you will be responsible for the identification and recruitment of potential clinical trial participants across the Cancer Institute's expansive interventional trial portfolio.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing and managing eligibility queries to identify potential participants for interventional oncology trials.
  • Reviewing study protocols, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and medical data to support accurate and compliant participant identification.
  • Collaborating with investigators, research staff, and institutional partners to enhance recruitment and feasibility strategies.
  • Supporting feasibility evaluations for new studies and contributing to the development of recruitment resources.
  • Curating and reporting screening metrics and outcomes to leadership and other stakeholders.



This is a senior-level position, ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare, research coordination, or patient navigation who are interested in contributing to the success of cancer clinical trials. RN licensure or other similar credentials are desirable, but not required. Employees in these roles operate as part of our collaborative research enterprise and are fundamental to the progress of cancer research being conducted at the University of Florida. Expected Salary:

$70,000 - $78,000

This is a TEAMS position, and is eligible for a suite of excellent benefits, retirement options, and paid leave.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
Knowledge/Experience:

  • Six to eight years of relevant experience and/or training in clinical research and/or oncology.
  • Experience in oncology clinical research, clinical navigation, or patient care.
  • Research certification (e.g., CCRP through SoCRA or CCRC through ACRP).
  • Experience creating and maintaining databases and using OnCore or similar Clinical Trials Management Systems (CTMS).
  • Familiarity with UF Health or large academic healthcare systems.
  • Understanding of clinical trial operations, regulatory requirements, and patient safety considerations.
  • Experience reviewing or interpreting medical records and data.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and SharePoint).
  • Comfort with electronic medical record systems (EPIC preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with varied audiences including investigators, physicians, sponsors, and UFHCI staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders through multiple communication mediums.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to recommend data-driven solutions.
  • Project management mindset with skills in delegation, scheduling, communication, quality management, and risk mitigation.
