Director, External Entities (Hybrid)

Job Description

Essential functions include but are not limited to: working independently, with limited guidance, to define, plan and execute operational activities within External Operations. Define strategic direction for sourcing activities within functional areas in Global Regulatory Affairs & Clinical Safety (GRACS). Collaborate within GRACS and with partnering areas to ensure achievement of sourcing goals and eternal entities. Ensure the transition of suppliers through the acquisition process partnering with Business Development Execution and Procurement

Primary Activities include but are not limited to:

The Director will have people management responsibilities that require oversight of team members in supporting the range of External Entities activities. Additionally, the Director will assume the responsibilities for employee development and management consistent with Company leadership principles. Oversee the relationship between our company and at least two or more external partner(s) to effectively deliver on objectives. Provide project management and oversight for cross-functional deliverables and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on behalf of External Entities. Drive Quality and Compliance by partnering with Functional Areas and Quality and Compliance colleagues to ensure the strictest and most robust controls and metrics for the supplier platform. Monitor supplier platform performance by collaborating with internal teams and external parties to ensure delivery of sourced work through clearly defined objectives. Support innovation and opportunity management and drive continuous improvements to ensure GRACS has the best in class and best industry regulatory and safety capabilities processes. Drive performance of the sourcing strategy across GRACS. Manage oversight of Local/Regional Distributors (Partner agreements) ensuring compliance with agreements in coordination with the PV and Safety teams as appropriate. Support cross-functional integration/dispensation of suppliers associated with products and companies joining our company via mergers and acquisitions. Ensure oversight and management of acquired company suppliers and vendors including partnering with procurement and Business Development Execution teams to ensure smooth transitions of outsourced work and contracting. Oversee any necessary GRACS vendor Qualifications. Aggregate performance metrics and support root cause analysis. Provide regular feedback to management, internal teams and external partners. All performance Metrics will be managed and reported into the Compliance Council as appropriate. Support audits and inspection of GRACS as it relates to sourcing.

Primary skills include but are not limited to:

Supplier Management:

  • Solid knowledge and experience in Supplier Management models. Experience working in a drug development outsourced model (either on the supplier or client side), with an ability to translate learnings to the outsourcing model. Experience managing vendor relationships and/or resolution of issues in a cross- functional environment.



Collaboration and Partnering:

  • Demonstrates advanced ability to work in partnership with others (within GRACS and external to GRACS) to accomplish quality goals; possesses advanced leadership skills.



Communication Skills:

  • Demonstrates advanced communications skills to convey and receive information. Demonstrates advanced oral and written and presentation skills.



Problem Solving:

  • Demonstrates expert level skills in problem solving using creative thinking, gathers data from appropriate stakeholders and responds to new, complex or problematic situations to influence organization direction.



Strategic Thinking:

  • Demonstrates advanced skills to drive change that enhances processes within GRACS.



Project Management:

  • Demonstrates expert ability to organize work efforts, prioritization of tasks and utilize appropriate resources to deliver or support work products in accordance with timelines.



Leadership Skills:

  • Ability to make quick informed decisions
  • Development and growth of team
  • Collaborate with internal GRACS Functions and external partners to drive execution of set strategy
  • Ability to manage multiple Sourcing options and determine needs for GRACS from work coming from Acquired Companies



Functional Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of procurement, governance and contractor functions
  • Understanding of GRACS Capabilities and Roles
  • Understanding of Distributor/Partner Roles and implementation of oversight/governance of the agreements in place



Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA degree/ Minimum of 7 years project management and/or vendor/supplier oversight experience

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5,2023 our U.S. Hybrid work model will be as follows: 1. Three total days on site per week: Tuesday and Wednesday - plus one additional day of choice based on what works best for organizations and/or teams. 2. Fridays will formally be a remote-working day unless business critical tasks require onsite presence.

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:
$159,200.00 - $250,700.00
